Steve's wife, Susan, called me yesterday (August 2,2009) and told me about Steve's passing. Since Steve was President of the Student Council for two years and very involved in many clubs and sports, he was well known by many of our classmates. I asked her if it would be okay to put her mailing address on our website so people could send a memory of Steve and she gave me her permission. Her address is:

Susan Wieland
18103 NW CR 239
Alachua, FL 32615

May you rest in peace, Steve.

I was so sad to find out about Steve's death. I had no knowledge of his death until Claudia Curd sent me an email.
I will hang on to the many wonderful memories I have of Steve. He was my love in most of high school and most of college. We had broken up because of his involvement in the Krishna movement but remained friends over the years.

I remember about 10 years ago I went to visit him in Florida because he was recovering from a heart valve replacement and I had a breast cancer diagnosis. He said he would probably have to have another surgery in his lifetime. We both realized that life is short so a visit with an old friend was a good thing to do! I got to meet his two daughters and his wife, too.

From what I researched I found out that his death was related to another heart valve replacement surgery that he needed which was supposed to last him the rest of his life. He never recovered and had to be placed on life support and died September 20, 2008.....so sad!!!! He will always hold a special place in my heart.

I hope this helps other classmates who wanted to know some details of Steve's passing.

Steve and I were as close as brothers from the 2nd grade all the way to the end of high school. We had a lot of good times together. We burned a lot of gas going in and out of Steak. We went on a lot of double dates. I went to visit him when he was at the University of Texas. I am truly saddened by this news. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family.

Steve and I were good friends and I am so sorry he passed. He would call me whenever he was in town. He was a great guy with a great heart and he was so smart. I loved the talks we had together. I will miss you Steve. Rest in Peace.
