In Memory

Harold Lively

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Harold Lively, who left us on September 25, 2024. Born on May 28, 1951, Harold lived a full and vibrant life, defined by his strength, distinctive viewpoints, a bright sense of humor, and a generous capacity for love.

A beloved figure in the family, Harold is survived by his devoted life partner Terry Callahan, his sons Erik and Aaron (Jennifer) and 6 grandchildren: Violet (Nik), Noah, Mackenzie, Turner, Austin and Taylor, his sister Joan Vachalek, and brother John Lively.  He was proceeded in death by his wife Denise. His presence will be profoundly missed, though the memories he left behind will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

A memorial service to celebrate Harold's life will be held on September 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at The Crossing at Mid Rivers with a reception following at Gettemeiers Sports Bar. Those who knew and loved Harold are welcome to attend and share in the remembrance of a life that touched so many.

In acknowledgement of Harold's deep devotion to his family, a fund has been established to provide family support in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be made at the following URL: https://everloved.com/life-of…. Your generosity would provide invaluable assistance during this difficult time and would serve as a testament to Harold's lifelong commitment to care for those he held dear.

Harold’s legacy is not marked by his passing, but by the love, laughter, and wisdom he shared during his time with us. His spirit will forever be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Harold was always very outgoing; even though I wasn't living in Florissant, he would visit me at class reunions. He would usually chime in on Facebook if I would talk about our Seattle Seahawks. I will miss him just like the rest of his classmates. Rest in peace old friend.

Our world is much the poorer, and Heavan much the richer today. Harold (Harry) Lively has gone on to his just, and well earned rewards. I, personally, will miss his ever present smile, quick wit, and impressive personality. Though we have lived many miles apart for many years, Harry always had time to converse with me through emails, Facebook, etc. I never saw Harry meet a stranger, just a new friend. You, truely, were an inspiring personality while you were here with us Harry. And through countless battles with cancer, a strong and notable fighter. And we all look forward to seeing you again someday.

Dear Harry :

I didnt know you very well. What I did know, is that you always were smiling. How short our lives are. Our lives seem to go by in a blink of an eye. I know you will be missed by your loved ones and friends, for in a very special way, you touched our lives. You will always remain in our thoughts. I feel blessed to have gotten to know you Harry.  Rest easy my friend.

Very Truly

HHS Double-Dating with Harold and his date was, in hindsight, kind of like the precursor to the original Saturday Night Live- MEMORABLE! Last saw Harold (then going by Harry) at the Veterans Hospiital VA charity Trivial Night- he MC'd along with this 'team' (fetching beauties, all). My appearance had changed so much, 'Harry' didn't recognize me, but that was okay. Harold was Harold that night, and that's what counted-he was AWESOME!
