Les, the 'big guy'! One of the few guys younger than me in our 1969 class. Many an hour spent at 'Track-n-Field' events shagging 12# iron shot puts balls for the guy. He was so pround to have qualified & and selected for the 1969 Suburban North District Field Games. Last we saw each other was to exchange some St. Louis Cardinal tickets. He borrowed my yearbook. His deep, booming voice and wide smile will always be with me. Thanks for being a friend. God's Peace, Les!

I didn't know Les that well back in school days, but our paths crossed again when we coached our sons' baseball team together.
We had some good times and got to know each other really well. Unfortunately, we moved out of town and we never saw each other again. That's sad because we had a lot in common and there were many more great times ahead. Rest in peace, my friend.

So sorry to hear about Les' passing.  He was a great track team mate and occasional subject of Bob Siefert and I in our"Daily Track News" postings.  Now Les and Bob are both gone.  Hope they're writing about the rest of us from a better place.
