Gail Hanson (Machelett)

Gail Lee Machelett, 59, Leslie, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010, in St. Louis.

Mrs. Machelett was born Feb. 23, 1951, in Wheeling, W.V., the daughter of Mathew Hanson and wife Nellie, nee Ray.

She graduated from Hazelwood High School, Hazelwood. She also attended East Central College.

On Nov. 1, 1969, she was united in marriage to William Machelett at St. Mark Methodist Church, Florissant. They made their home in Leslie and three children were born to this marriage.

Mrs. Machelett was employed as a social worker for Missouri Division of Family Services in St. Louis County and Union.

She was a member of Antioch Christian Church, Leslie, and a past member of the Union and Beaufort-Leslie Fire Department Auxiliary.

Mrs. Machelett was preceded in death by her father, Mathew Hanson.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Machelett, Leslie; two sons, Mathew Machelett and wife Shannon, Gerald, and John Machelett, Leslie; one daughter, Cindy Noelker and husband Kurt, Washington; her mother, Nellie Hanson, Hazelwood; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Dillon and Robert Noelker, Zachary and Nathan Machelett, Cody Schutte and Tracy Machelett; two brothers, Brian Hanson and Mark Hanson, both of Hazelwood; one sister, Janet Rygelski and husband Dave, Lake Saint Louis; a brother-in-law, Bob Machelett and wife Joan, Union; a sister-in-law, Kathy Miller and husband Wayne, Washington; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 2, at Antioch Christian Church, Leslie, with the Rev. Doyle Roth officiating.

Burial was in Midlawn Cemetery, Union.

Gail was a very good friend of mine.

We had many precious memories together.

Rest in peace-I love you girl
